READING, May 27, 2015 – Students at one of Reading elementary schools will receive new books and free ice cream sandwiches at 1:45 p.m., Friday, May 29, thanks to donations by the United Way and a local Dairy Queen, Sen. Judy Schwank said today.

Schwank is a tutor in Glenside Elementary School’s “Ready. Set. Read!” program, where the donations will be made.

Dairy Queen Owner Hamid Chaudhry will distribute 475 ice-cream sandwiches to students while the United Way will deliver age-appropriate books to each of Glenside’s pupils. Sen. Schwank will also be in attendance.
