Seeking Residents’ Feedback on Storm-Related Power Outages

Senator Judy SchwankThe recent storm that brought rare winter weather to Berks County left hundreds of thousands of residents without power.

While we couldn’t anticipate the scope of this pre-winter snowfall, it left many residents in the cold and dark for days, including me. The lagging response from our local utilities must be examined.

I recently sent a letter urging the Public Utility Commission to review the response of the area’s utility companies to the Oct. 29 storm. I plan to follow up to discuss this issue further, and I need your help explaining the scope of the power problems in our communities during and after the storm to the PUC and the utilities.

If you wish to share your power outage story with me, you can fill out a submission form or submit a letter to State Sen. Judy Schwank, RE: Power Outage, Rockland Professional Center, 1940 N. 13th St., Suite 232, Reading, PA 19604.

It would be helpful if you could provide me with specific information about your utility’s response to any problems you experienced with your service during and after the storm. Your information will be used for the sole purpose of gaining an understanding of the storm’s impact on consumers.
